It happened near Mallard Drive and Laurel Bowie Road around 6 p.m., according to PGPD.
A woman in the front passenger seat of one of the vehicles was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.
Four others involved in the crash were hospitalized for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police added.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
